What has been the impact of the Procession?

Since originating in 1995, Olympia's Procession has evolved into the Puget Sound's largest annual Earth Day event. It helps define Olympia as a cultural tourism hub. Captivating audiences with art, music, and dance, Procession now draws people from around the nation as they seek to share this unique, heartwearming appreciation of the natural world.

Since its inception, the Procession has grown from 800 participants and 3,000 spectators to over 2,500 participants and 35,000 onlookers in 2004.

Called "Olympia's crown jewel" by The Olympian, the Procession has cultivated a rich relationship between all areas of the community, providing both the public and private sectors with a true investment in community empowerment.
