How competitive are the leagues?
Most of the play would be categorized as recreational. Occasionally a league has been broken into competitive and recreational groups, if enough teams (4) are interested in 'competitive' play. This is not to say that games are easy-going. If the teams have not been divided into two 'divisions' you will face a wide variety of levels of play.
How do I get on a team?
There a three ways to approach getting on an adult soccer team:
- On this SWSA website, add your name to our online Player List Team managers occasionally use this list to find players.
- Attend some of the pickup opportunities in the area and talk to folks about their teams.
- And perhaps the best method is to go out to scheduled games and ask the teams if they need players.
To be serious about getting on a team you probably will want to have a WSSA Player's Card, you can't play without one. Visit this website http://wssa.org/ for instructions on getting a card.
