The first installation of The Iraq Memorial to Life . . .
. . . took place - Friday, March 20 & Saturday, March 21, 2009
Representing the desire for peace and reconciliation, the Memorial presents markers for the civilians whose deaths have been documented to be a result of the US-led invasion that began March 19, 2003.
The Iraq Memorial to Life - Photo Journals
Construction of the Memorial is being planned for the lawn near the Washington Monument on the National Mall for a nine-day period including a Saturday set-up and Sunday afternoon take-down; the permit dates are being finalized for some time after May 1, 2009.
Your help is needed.
Make a marker for one of the people - or several markers for a group that died in an incident.
