Fresh Lemonade big fat California lemon
1 to 3 tablespoons honey or sugar
3/4 cup water
Mix it on the spot with the juice of a lemon, sweetener, and water. Pour over ice in a tall glass.
Or make this easy Lemonade Syrup Base ahead and keep in the refrigerator for instant fresh lemonade. In covered jar, combine 1 tablespoon grated lemon rind, 1-1/2 cups sugar and 1/2 cup boiling water. Shake until sugar dissolves. Add 1-1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice. Store, tightly covered, in refrigerator. Makes 2 2/3 cups. For lemonade, add syrup in proportion you wish to water and ice cubes in tall glass (use about 1/4 cup base to 1 cup water).
