Letters - Let's Just Pee in the Street I Guess?Dear Editor, Olympia and the surrounding area is one of the most beautiful places I have ever had the blessing to see. The forests are unbelievable, the secluded beaches feel surreal, and the public is as welcoming to newcomers as it gets... almost. I have been a lot of places, and Olympia has possibly the most poorly organized downtown area I have ever seen. You can't find a public bathroom anywhere. I'm not sure if this was a grossly inhumane attempt to rid this COMMUNITY of the homeless part of the COMMUNITY or a blunder in the bureaucratic mess of the CAPITAL of Washington, but people (not just homeless ones) are pissing in the street because there is nowhere else to do it. As a newcomer, this seems like a pretty stupid way to screw up an otherwise serene place. --David Charles P.S. That artesian well downtown is a treasure, free it up a bit from the concrete jungle and people will notice!
