Sea Level UpdateAndy Haub, Planning and Engineering Manager, Public Works Department, City of Olympia will present an annual update to the community on the effects of sea level rise in Olympia on January 23. Haub will discuss the long-term strategy for how to respond to up to 50 inches of sea level rise. This event, sponsored by Transition Olympia, is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Olympia Center from 7 - 9 pm. Come at 6:45 for refreshments. Prior to that event, Haub will also be presenting a sea level rise briefing for the Olympia City Council on November 15 at 5:30 in Room 207 of City Hall. The public is welcome. (See http://www.oly-wa.us/transitionolympia ) Also, watch for high tide levels predicted for the week near Christmas. Last year's highest tide was January 4.
