Alan Bauer's Best WA Desert HikesProfessional photographer Alan L. Bauer will present the adventure and beauty of the Washington Columbia Basin desert country covered in his book Best Desert Hikes: Washington, published by The Mountaineers Books, at the Olympia Timberland Library from 2:00 - 3:30 pm on Saturday, November 13. Regions ranging from the wildlife rich areas between the Cascades and Columbia River, the Grand Coulee Country, the Snake River Country, and all the way south to the Columbia River Gorge will be shared. A question and answer period follows. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Bauer specializes in the natural history and local histories of the Pacific Northwest. He has written eight books.
