Skills for Healthy Sustainable Living: A Community Education Series

Sustainable South Sound, Garden Raised Bounty, Olympia Food Coop and Thurston County are banding together for the first of what will be an annual program of collaborative workshops. Skills for Healthy Sustainable Living: A Community Education Series features over 30 workshops and events (so far) designed to help people make good food choices, sustainably grow more of their own food, save seed, make medicine, and much more.

The series kicked off on Sunday, Feb. 21 with a Seed Exchange held at the GRuB Farmhouse, where Sustainable South Sound's Urban Agriculture Program provided community members with a chance to offer seeds to share with other local gardeners. For those interested in growing new crops, or new varieties of familiar crops, this event was an ideal way to learn about new ideas.

By working together to educate and empower individuals we can create a sustainable, hunger free, healthy and resilient community. Registration is required, space is limited, and all workshops are free unless otherwise listed (donations always welcome).
