Getting to Know Puget Sound

People For Puget Sound is bringing a series of free membership meetings to South Sound, as both a benefit to members and an introduction to non-members. In the wake of Lobby Day activism (see article in this issue for more information), four of these monthly meetings will be dedicated to a marine science book club. Each month the community is invited to read the book and come to the membership meeting at Traditions Café in Olympia for a lively discussion of issues relevant to the reading and to the health of Puget Sound. Each month experts will join us to provide their insights.

The books for this year's program are: The Log From the Sea of Cortez, Song for the Blue Ocean, The Empty Ocean, and Monsoons to Microbes. Dates for the book club meetings (all at Traditions Café, 300 5th Ave SW, Olympia WA, at 7:00 pm) are Feb. 22, March 22, April 26 and June 28, 2010.
