Sea Cinema: Exploring the World's Oceans to Help Save Puget Soundby Gabrielle Byrne People For Puget Sound, with the Olympia Film Society, will present "Sea Cinema!" on June 5 and 6 from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. each night at the Capitol Theater in Olympia. The South Sound community is invited to join the celebration of World Oceans Day and discover steps we can take to become more informed and active to protect and improve the health of Puget Sound. "Sea Cinema!" is also sponsored by the Puget Sound Partnership and Alpine Experience. It seeks to encourage stewardship, activism, and education by offering two evenings of award- winning, independent films. Follow the flip flop flotsam of Africa from feet to ocean to art in "Flip Flotsam." Watch surfers make orchestral music on the beach in "Musica Surfica." Learn about ocean acidification in "A Sea Change" and watch a sea slug attack in "Attack of the Sea Slug." Each night will also feature a performance. Friday night, Playback Theater will be performing improvisational stories of Puget Sound as shared by audience members. On Saturday, Still Hope Productions will share underwater footage and offer a panel discussion for the community. Amateur filmmakers are invited to participate in the "Sea Cinema!" film contest, with the winning film to be shown on Saturday night. Among the award-winning films to be shown include:
