Spring Workshops Focus on Native Berries

Have fun and learn all about native berries at two workshops hosted by the Clear Choices for Clean Water Program and Thurston County Stream Team. On Wednesday, June 3, hear a discussion of Fruiting Native Plants for Beginners at Lacey City Hall, 420 College St. SE, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Learn how fruiting native plants and even non-native plants can provide important habitat, how to identify some of the common berries in the area, and how you can help in creating a berry healthy watershed. Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to take home FREE native plants. Registration is required to receive free plants.

On Saturday, June 6, a Fruiting Native Plant Walk for Beginners will take place from 10 am-noon (location information will be provided upon registration). Participants will learn about plant identification features, habitat requirements for different plants, and important techniques for restoration. Please wear comfortable and weather appropriate clothes. Registration is required. Transportation to the trail from the meeting site is provided. Space is limited.
