What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship of mutual support and commitment between local farmers and a community of neighbors.

CSA members purchase a share of the season’s harvest in advance, which covers the grower’s operating costs for seeds, tools, labor, soil amendments, infrastructure, and equipment. In turn, farmers grow and distribute a weekly share of the harvest directly to the members.

The CSA model is used to distribute vegetables, meat, dairy, fruit, nuts, flowers and more. Growers and members alike share the abundance of each season. CSA is an economically and environmentally sustainable farming option. This option fosters a deep relationship not only between the grower and the consumer, but the crop and the land on which it is grown.
