Rain Garden Workshop Series Aims to Protect Water

Learn how and why to build one or more rain gardens in your yard to create a low-maintenance, attractive feature that will also help protect local waterways and keep stormwater away from your house. Participants will receive personalized attention to help get started designing a rain garden for their sites, as well as free detailed step-by-step color guidebooks.

The workshops will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Participants can choose from one of five area sessions:

  • Monday, February 25, in Yelm
  • Thursday, March 6, in Olympia
  • Thursday, March 27, in Eatonville
  • Thursday, April 3, in Tumwater
  • Thursday, April 17, in Lacey -}

    In addition to the evening workshops, participants will be invited to get hands-on experience installing rain gardens at area schools in April and May.
