Remodel Without Remorse

Olympia Salvage, a non-profit deconstruction business, has moved to 415 Olympia Ave. NE, downtown (the old Hardel Lumber building across from Alpine Experience). With their expanded store hours, you can now shop Wednesday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Olympia Salvage's mission is to promote environmental sustainability by diverting building materials from the waste stream.

Purchasing reused building materials helps the environment by reducing the demand for virgin natural resources, and decreasing the burden on our landfills. You can also find vintage items of a quality no longer available in new materials. Additionally, reused building materials cost less than purchasing new materials.

Olympia Salvage sells quality used building materials. In addition to cabinets, windows, and doors, they have some superior lumber from deconstruction jobs at Fort Lewis. Proceeds from the retail operation are used to support more salvage operations.

Olympia Salvage also offers professional deconstruction services to partially salvage or fully dismantle a structure. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, they can provide tax-deductible receipts for donations of building materials received through the course of deconstruction.

The construction and demolition industry is currently the leading contributor to our region's landfills. Olympia Salvage provides innovative solutions to the problem of waste and consumption. In addition to conserving natural resources and reducing landfill usage, Olympia Salvage also contributes to the local economy by providing low-cost materials for builders, remodelers, and artisans.
