Prosperity Grange Fights to Keep Waterway Public

The Prosperity Grange is contesting a decision by Thurston County Commissioners to vacate public right-of-ways along the Black River to real estate developers. The Grange maintains that state law prevents closing of public access to public waterways. The Thurston County Superior Court will hear their appeal on July 1. Prosperity Grange holds potluck dinner meetings at 6:30 pm the first Wednesday of every month at 3701 Steamboat Island Road NW. For more information, contact Morris Dodge at 273-8565.
