Pulitzer Prize Winner to Speak in Olympia on Global Warming and Climate ChangeJournalist Debunks Energy Industry Disinformation on Urgent Issue Ross Gelbspan, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author of a much-heralded new book, The Heat is On: The High Stakes Battled Over Earth's Threatened Climate, will be speaking in Olympia on Monday, June 9th, 7pm at Orca Books. Reports of changes in the world's climate have been with us for almost twenty years, yet little has changed. Every year the Earth's atmosphere ingests six billion tons of CO2, resulting in record-setting weather extremes that have become as commonplace as traffic accidents. Oil and coal companies eager to protect their interests have worked hard to undermine the public confidence in science and thereby defer action against global warming. Ross Gelbspan will lecture on the possible solutions to our global warming crisis and the ironic alliance between the insurance industry and environmentalists who now do battle with the fossil fuel lobby.
