Climate Legislative and Executive Workgroup

The Climate Legislative and Executive Workgroup (CLEW) was created in 2013 and is charged with recommending a state program of actions and policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, that if implemented would ensure achievement of the state's emissions reductions limits set in Chapter 70.235 by the 2008 legislature.

Workgroup members include Governor Jay Inslee, Senators Doug Erickson and Kevin Ranker, and Representatives Joe Fitzgibbon, Jessyn Farrell, and Shelly Short.

The Workgroup is holding a series of public meetings and seeking public input throughout the process.

  • December 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in House Hearing Room A, CLEW will hold a public hearing on the draft report.

  • December 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in House Hearing Room A, CLEW will discuss final proposed policies and actions, and the timeline and funding for actions. -}
