Farm Land Trust

Supporters of farmland preservation are invited to the 2013 Farms Forever: A Dinner for the Benefit of Farmland Preservation, Saturday September 21, 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Expo Center at the Thurston County Fairgrounds. The dinner and auction are sponsored by South of the Sound Community Farm Land Trust (SSCFLT) and their partners.

Guests will enjoy the fall harvest prepared by a half dozen local chefs: Chef Lisa from Nineveh Assyrian will prepare lamb from Fido's Farm; Kirsop Farm grain and potatoes will be prepared by Chef Will Taylor, Aqua Via; Chef Treacy will prepare Taylor Shellfish Farms' steamer clams; Chef Kristi, Paprika, will serve up Wobbly Cart vegetables; Thomas Husmann, Olympia Local Foods, will prepare his own chickens; and Chef Lela and Sandy will begin the evening with their local foods appetizers. Local wine, cider and coffee are included.

Auction items feature garden supplies, farm experiences and local food. Expect news on two exciting farm acquisition projects.
