Poetry and SustainabilityStephen J. Gould memorably said, "We cannot win this battle to save species and environments without forging an emotional bond... for we will not fight to save what we do not love." As many poets have demonstrated, poetry is a powerful way to forge the necessary emotional bond. On Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, Dr. Don Foran and Dr. Kathleen Byrd will be presenting a program on Poetry and Sustainability at Traditions Café, 300 5th Ave SW, Olympia WA. Discussion will follow their presentation. This event is free but donations are always accepted. Co-sponsored by Earth Care Catholics and the Interfaith Works Stewardship Committee.
