Gear Up With the Page Pedalers

Yea, it's here! Join Green Pages team Page Pedalers in signing up for the annual Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Contest! Intercity Transit is hosting again this year, which marks the contest's 20th Anniversary Year.

Ride your bike in May to work, school or on errands and win some great prizes including gift certificates to local bike shops, sports equipment, massages, goodies from area restaurants, and much more.

The more you ride the more prizes you are eligible to receive. However, even one ride makes you eligible for a day pass to the Downtown Olympia YMCA, a perennial from Gordon's Garden Center, a muffin from Blue Heron Bakery, and more!

All registered riders can get a free bicycle safety check, too. Just take your bike to the Wrenchers' Ball at the Olympia Transit Center on Friday, April 27 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Anyone who lives or works in Thurston County can join in. Kids 18 and under sign up for free and compete for passes to Wild Waves, Wolf Haven, and the Hands On Children's Museum.

Fill out a registration form and return it in person or by mail to the Olympia Transit Center at 222 State Avenue, Olympia 98501. You can pick one up at a local bike shop, or print one from the website http://www.intercitytransit.com/page.cfm?ID=0350

Sign-up by May 5, keep track of your miles and turn in your mileage logs by June 5 to win prizes! In the Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Contest, everybody wins!
