by Paul Horton

Special to the Green Pages

The Energy Outreach Center invites everyone to the grand opening of its new educational visitors' center.

The result of much planning and over 80 contributions from individuals, local governments, and supportive businesses, the new public facility will demonstrate a variety of state-of-the-art energy-efficiency, renewable, and conservation technologies such as water-conserving fixtures, solar photovoltaics, solar water and space heating, efficient heating, ventilation, and lighting, passive daylighting, and recycled-content building materials. As always, the new EOC will also:

  • be a resource center for students, home and business owners, and building professionals to take tours, enjoy classes, and utilize the extensive educational resources compiled and published by the Energy Outreach Center;
  • offer "one-stop shopping" for information and hands-on displays of products and technologies, as well as
  • house the EOC's extensive educational programs (classes, hands-on workshops, etc.). -}
