TEAL Issues Election Endorsements

Candidates endorsed by the Thurston Environmental Action League (TEAL) share some remarkable traits. They have exemplary knowledge of the environmental issues confronting local governments (such as growth management and transportation), and their positions are well-thought out and respectful of our natural environment.

As current officeholders, professionals within our community, volunteers, or activists, endorsed candidates have already demonstrated a proven record of environmental leadership. These women and men will roll up their sleeves to represent us, continue the hard work, and vote the tough votes necessary to protect and enhance the natural environment in Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater.

TEAL urges those who care about our quality of life to support the following candidates in November:

      What is TEAL?
      TEAL is the Thurston County affiliate of Washington Conservation Voters (WCV). WCV and TEAL are nonpartisan organizations formed to elect and support environmentally responsible officials. TEAL functions through the volunteer energies of its 11-member Board.

      The TEAL endorsement process involves an analysis of each candidate's environmental "record" and often includes an in-depth oral interview. This year, interview topics included discussions on growth management, economic development, transportation, LOTT, water quality and waste management.

      How can I become more involved?
