Green Your Neighborhood

If you've ever wondered if trees could be added to beautify your neighborhood, there's a city program to help. The NeighborWoods program will provide an avenue for individuals or groups to initiate a street tree plan for their own neighborhood.

Through the program, City of Olympia staff and other trained professionals are available to assist individuals or groups in soil and site assessment, evaluation of existing street trees, project planning and volunteer coordination.

Once you have gone through NeighborWoods training, you and your neighborhood group can quality for Urban Forestry grants as well as free trees. Available training will include basic tree biology, tree planting and selection, site analysis, project planning, and volunteer coordination.

If you would like more information about the NeighborWoods program, contact the City of Olympia's Urban Forestry Office at (360) 753-8046.
