Waste Reduction Workshop

Teachers in kindergarten through 12th grade can learn how to use an excellent, integrated curriculum on waste reduction at a workshop scheduled for Thursday, August 7 in Lacey.

The workshop on the Department of Ecology's "A-Way with Waste" curriculum will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at River Ridge High School, located at 8929 Martin Way East.

"A-Way with Waste" is an integrated course curriculum designed to teach K-12 students how to reduce waste. Teachers who attend the August 7 workshop will learn about recycling, worm composting, water pollution, air pollution, and household hazardous products. The workshop will include hands-on activities, guest speakers, community resources and a tour of the Hawks Prairie Landfill.
