Stewards Sought for Mima Mounds Preserve

Volunteer site stewards are sought for Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve. The 445-acre site protects the best example of Mima Mounds in Thurston County and supports a native Puget prairie ecosystem. Site stewards help by educating visitors and monitoring problems such as invasive weeds and broken fences. Stewards will work one or two days a month, on the weekend. For a full description of volunteer opportunities at the preserve, please contact: Amy Stock - Natural Areas Coordinator, Department of Natural Resources - Central Region, (360) 748-2383,1405 Rush Road, Chehalis, WA 98532.
