Pickup Soccer Opportunities

There is pickup still happening. But I'm not up-to-date since I have retired from playing. I believe the Saturday pickup on the Westside is still happening.

Saturday
One place that almost anyone can play is on Olympia's westside. Play gets started about 1:00 or 2:00 on Saturdays, note that some folks get there earlier to warm up. This is a community pickup game and all are welcome. We are trying to spread the 'load' on the various fields so as not to damage them, so please review this field change page. Currently we are not announcing where we are playing please contact me to get the latest info.

Instructions
It is helpful if each player brings a white shirt and one that is not. (Because of size and safety we discourage the young ones under 12 as most of the players are adults.)

At Evergreen
I have a report of a pickup game at Evergreen State College. They play at 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Wednesdays.

In Lacey
I have heard rumors of a pickup game on Sundays, noon at William Bush Park on the Yelm Highway. If this is wrong, or it changes, would someone let me know?

At River Ridge High School on most Saturdays at 1:00 pm, a semi-pro men's team with the National Soccer Association practice - when they don't have games. They say it's open to anyone. They were still playing at 4:00 pm when I left. It was pretty high quality soccer too. They played their positions, passed, carried, talked efficiently and made some long shots. The participants were really strong/fit. No surprise there since they were semi-pro.
