"the power of song for peace..." |
Welcome to The Olympia Peace Choir website
The Olympia Peace Choir is an inclusive, intergenerational community chorus dedicated to using the power of song to create peace, social justice, and promote environmental stewardship.
Under the direction of Kerri Lynn Nichols, the Choir is an independent non-profit organization with no religious or political affiliations. We welcome all who love to sing! There are no auditions. We sing for the joy of it and perform at approximately seven community events each year.
For two weeks in September we invite people who may be interested in singing with us to try it out. This year we invite all to join us and are in particular need of male voices and first sopranos. However, there is a cap for the optimal number of singers for each vocal section. Attending the two weeks in September does not guarantee that we will have space available for your vocal range. The September open rehearsal dates are September 12 and 19. If interested in more information or to find out the rehearsal location contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Choir's expenses - for our professional director and accompanist, rehearsal space, and music - are primarily covered by member fees. There is a sliding scale based on ability to pay and there are some partial scholarships available. The Choir is managed by a volunteer board of directors and supported by members who volunteer for tasks.
Come sing songs from diverse cultures that lift your spirit & inspire peace in your heart and world!
