"the power of song for peace..." |
Welcome to The Olympia Peace Choir website
The Olympia Peace Choir is an inclusive, intergenerational community chorus dedicated to using the power of song to create peace and social justice.
Under the direction of Kerri Lynn Nichols, the Choir is an independent non-profit organization with no religious or political affiliations. We welcome all who love to sing! There are no auditions. We sing for the joy of it and perform at approximately six community events each year.
We are recruiting new members for the 2015-2016 season. We are particularly interested in low voices (Tenor, Baritone/Bass). See more information
We rehearse during the school year on Monday evenings at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1601 North Street SE, Olympia, WA. Prospective members may attend the first two rehearsals in September before deciding to join. Child care is available for a $5 fee.
The Choir’s expenses – for our professional director and accompanist, rehearsal space, and music – are primarily covered by member fees. There is a sliding scale based on ability to pay and there are some partial scholarships available. The Choir is managed by a volunteer board of directors and supported by members who volunteer for tasks.
Come sing songs from diverse cultures that lift your spirit & inspire peace in your heart and world!
