Please respond to the following so we know if we have enough cars available to accommodate all who want to attend the demonstration:

Remember to bring water, a bit of food, and funds for gas and parking. Parking will be $10 per car for the day. Please wear black (for photo ops). Good maps showing where we are going are at http://endthewarseattle.org and simply click on the map button. Great map and directions are there. we will have maps at the parking lots for drivers as well.

1. Are you driving? If so, how many passengers do you have room for?
2. Do you have large sign or banner you are bringing? a large drum?
3. Which location are you leaving from?
a. the artesian well downtown?
b. the parking lot on the westside at Division and Harrison, in front of Apollo pizza?
c. the Martin Way Park & Ride?

Kim is driving, leaving from the Artesian well. Not sure yet how many passengers.

Molly and Greg are leaving from Martin Way Park & Ride, may have doves with long handles going under our feet. Van will hold five others, if three are small. We have drums and long poles so won't have much room for banners or large signs. Others will.

Action in Seattle

Stand Up Seattle has endorsed the Iraq Moratorium. The kick-off counter-recruiting on Sept. 21 went very well and a short video can be viewed at iraqmoratorium.org <http://iraqmoratorium.org/> . Go to the heading "Moratorium Day #1" and search for Seattle.

Action in Tacoma

Protest at the Tacoma Mall Military Recruitment Station

Prior to the National Day of Antiwar Action, The Seattle Socialist Alternative is calling for a day of Antiwar Action in Tacoma at the Recruitment Center near the Mall. Socialist Alternative Seattle says this is very important to them since Tacoma is a military town with a heavy Junior ROTC presence in every high school. The protest is scheduled as a "Student Walkout" mainly for high school students, yet it is starting at 3:00pm in the afternoon, so no need to miss school for this.

The protest is part of a larger framework for counter-recruitment strategies in Tacoma.

A friend in Alaska wrote a review of an incredibly powerful film, In the Valley of Elah. Check it out and see the movie if you haven't.
