"Eating at home..." |
Edible Forest Gardens is a local non-profit organization that has put more than 60 Edible Forest Gardens in yards, schools, community gardens, neighborhood pathways and businesses around Olympia over the past eight years. We have done this using workshops where community volunteers and Evergreen students have had the opportunity to learn how to transform lawns into gardens through hands-on experience. We work with Evergreen teachers to offer permaculture learning experiences to interns and work study students. We welcome volunteers and interns who want to help transform our community to organic, no-till, local food spaces.
We have a plant nursery where we grow perennial vegetables, elderberry, serviceberry, Viking aronia, rosa rugosa and black currants to put into the gardens.
