Farm Camps for Kids offered in July 2016
On-line Registration is Open. Click here.
The Iron Horse Farm is now offering summer farm camps for kids! Children will care for goats, pigs, and ducklings and learn the ins and outs of a backyard aquaponics system. Activities include milking goats, making yogurt and cheese, trimming hooves, and feeding pigs. We will paint pictures using the animals as models.
Time will be allotted each day to explore nature on the farm. We will walk through the forest, identify native plants, make tea from fir needles, and eat snacks made from fruits and vegetables grown on the farm. Children will observe each type of animal’s intelligence and learn how they communicate with their bodies and through many different vocalizations.
