Fort Flagler Spring Retreat - 2017 - Menu & Shopping List

Please bring quantities sufficient for your family and guests for the meals you will be eating. You need not bring every single item listed; the starred items * are those things we need almost everyone to bring. Take your own leftover food and kitchen supplies when you leave. There are refrigerators and a freezer.

Friday dinner menu:
Spaghetti and sauce, salad, garlic bread, brownies.

  • *Prepared spaghetti sauce, designated vegetarian or meat.
  • Spaghetti noodles (regular or gluten free)
  • *Salad greens, veggies etc.
  • Salad dressing
  • French bread and butter, garlic
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • *Fruit
  • *Brownies
  • Juice or milk

Saturday and Sunday breakfast menus:
breakfast menus: Eggs, toast, muffins, cold cereal, yogurt. Fruit. Usual morning beverages.

  • Breads, English muffins, etc. for two breakfasts
  • *Eggs for two breakfasts
  • *Dried cereals/granola
  • *Milk and juices
  • Butter, jam, raisins, honey
  • Yogurt
  • Fruit
  • Coffee, tea, hot chocolate (never seems to be enough cocoa)

Saturday lunch menu:
Soups, sandwiches, veggies, chips, cookies

  • Canned soup: chicken noodle or tomato
  • Sandwich breads
  • *Sandwich filling: cold cuts, cheese, egg salad, peanut butter etc.
  • Condiments: mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, chutney.
  • Raw veggies, already cut to eat is a help.
  • Fruit for fruit salad
  • *Chips
  • *Cookies (gosh, they disappear!)
  • *Juice, milk

Snacks:
Fruit, juice, veggies, chips etc. for a mid-afternoon snack

Saturday dinner:
Taco salad, rhubarb crisp, ice cream.

  • Taco salad makings
  • corn chips or corn or flour tortillas,
  • cheese, (grated),
  • kidney beans or vegetarian refried beans,
  • olives,
  • sour cream,
  • salsa,
  • hamburger,
  • green onions,
  • avocados,
  • fresh tomatoes,
  • lettuce, etc.
  • Rhubarb, for rhubarb crisp.
  • Ice cream and topping mix will be provided.

Extra beverages: juice, teas, honey, coffee, and hot chocolate mix for between meals.

Other Needed items: hand soap for bathrooms, dish soap, pot holders, paper towels, sharp knives, kitchen towels, salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc.
