Our Vision

Olympia's artesian wells are part of Olympia's unique identity and natural heritage. More than 100 artesian well sites have been documented in the greater Olympia area. Only a handful of these wells are in use today. Most have been either capped or diverted into storm drains.

Guided by scientific research, we are working with local businesses, the Olympia City Council, state and local regulatory agencies, and other concerned citizens, to preserve existing artesian wells, develop new wells at sites within public parks, use the wells as opportunities for environmental education and art, and support common sense regulations that safeguard the pristine quality of our artesian water.
